COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com) — An investigation is underway Tuesday following multiple allegations that campaign paraphernalia has been tampered with in Costa Mesa.
Hundreds of banners and signs have been reported stolen and damaged over the past few weeks, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.
“The City and Police Department take allegations of theft seriously,” Police Chief Tom Gazsi said in a statement. “The Police Department is receiving information relative to these cases, investigating leads and proactively patrolling areas where incidents have been reported.”
Officials said there have been no eyewitnesses.
