Man Who Ripped Gold Necklace Of Girl's Neck Wanted By Police

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives need the public's help in identifying a man who ripped a gold necklace off a girl's neck.

A young man walked up to a girl in the area of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Ficket Street at about 1 p.m. on Sept. 24 and pulled the gold chain from her neck, police said.

The suspect was last seen running from the area with the victim's gold necklace.

Nearby surveillance cameras show the suspect bought a soda minutes prior to the robbery, police said.

The suspect is believed to be responsible for similar crimes in the area. He is described as a tall black man, 20 to 25 years old, between 6-foot-3 and 5-foot-5 and weighing about 180 pounds.
