BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — A man was found dead Tuesday on the side of the Golden State (5) Freeway.
Burbank police were called at 5:55 p.m. to the Scott Road off-ramp on the southbound side of the freeway, where a man was lying motionless.
The man was subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics. He was later identified as Clifford Morris, 55, of Washington state.
Officials say Morris was not a transient or homeless.
The off-ramp was closed and the CHP issued a SigAlert at 6:47 p.m.
Detectives said they, along with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, consider the death suspicious.
Anyone who may have seen something suspicious on the off-ramp between midnight and 6 p.m. Tuesday was asked to call police at (818) 238-3210.
