SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities red flagged an Orange County home Tuesday morning after responding to a report of animal hoarding.
An odor complaint from a neighbor led police to the house in the 1500 block of West 6th Street in Santa Ana where two adults and eight children live.
Officers entered the two-bedroom home wearing Hazmat suits and found 25 animals, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
The children range in age from 2 to 17 years old, Bertagna said.
Thus far, police have rounded up 23 cats, including 5 kittens, a parrot and a dog.
