LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities on Saturday were investigating the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting that left one suspect wounded in unincorporated East Los Angeles.
The incident occurred just before 10:15 p.m. Friday in the 5000 block of East First Street.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy Peter Gomez said in a statement that a man was wounded and transported to an area hospital.
No deputies were injured.
The incident was also being investigated by the Los Angeles County DA’s office and Los Angeles Office of Independent Review as is standard in deputy-involved shootings when a suspect is hit.
