Person Of Interest Named In Fatal Perris Stabbing

PERRIS (CBS)  — Sheriff's investigators have named a person of interest in a fatal stabbing in Perris, according to a sergeant Saturday.

After interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, detectives narrowed their search to Jose Rosas, 22, as a person of interest, in the stabbing Friday night of Luis Xique, 20, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Todd Torrenti.

At about 9:20 p.m. Friday, Xique was found with stab wounds at a driveway in the 300 block of Second Street, Torrenti said. Xique died of his injuries at an area hospital, the sergeant said.

Deputies asked anyone with information about Rosas' whereabouts to call sheriff's investigator James Merrill of the sheriff's Homicide Unit at (951) 955-2777 or detective Tom Salisbury at (951) 210-1000.
