WESTMINSTER (CBS) — A 36-year-old Santa Ana man was sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to attempting a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl.

Oscar Zamora Pinedo pleaded guilty to three felony counts: luring a child with intent to commit a crime, meeting a minor to commit lewd conduct and attempted lewd act on a child younger than 14.

The “girl” he attempted to meet was actually an undercover Huntington Beach police officer.

Pinedo accepted a plea bargain offer from Orange County Superior Court Judge John Adams, said Deputy District Attorney Nagy Morcos.

Pinedo was given credit for 300 days served. He has about another four to five months to serve in prison, Morcos said.

The undercover officer and Pinedo exchanged emails after “meeting” on Craigslist.

Pinedo — armed with condoms and Viagra — drove to Huntington Beach on Jan. 4 to meet the girl and was arrested on the spot.
