LOS FELIZ (CBSLA.com) — Two people were found dead at a Los Feliz home Wednesday.
Officers responded to a call of a screaming woman in the 3600 block of Lowry Road around 10:40 a.m.
An elderly woman was found dead in the residence and a man was found dead outside, police said.
Suraya Fadel, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said the victim was a 81-year-old woman.
Fadel said the woman was bludgeoned to death inside her bedroom. There were signs of a violent struggle.
Police said the victim was a landlord and the suspect was her tenant.
Fadel reported, “Homicide detectives were inside the home for hours processing the gruesome crime scene.”
The police believe the 28-year-old man found outside the home was the killer. They believe he fell to his death after scaling a wall or falling off the roof.
Officials are investigating what led to the killing and they are still looking for the murder weapon.
The woman’s daughter was too distraught to talk to reporters, said Fadel.
The victim’s neighbor, Wylie Drummons, told Fadel the suspect exhibited erratic behavior after the murder attacking 2 neighbors and a house painter next door.
