LA City Council President's Son Arrested On Suspicion Of Drunken Driving

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles City Council president's son was arrested Saturday on suspicion of drunken driving.

Justin Wesson, 30, was stopped around 8:15 p.m. at a DUI checkpoint in Los Angeles.

He was booked and taken to jail, but was released on $5,000 bond.

Herb Wesson said his son, who works as his legislative deputy, was driving his own car when he was stopped.

The council president said he's grateful no one was injured.

The elder Wesson also said "appropriate action" will be taken within the office.

Justin Wesson is expected to be arraigned Oct. 18.
