LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Long Beach residents can save some green by going green.

An online rewards program for recycling kicked off Friday as the city of Long Beach along with Recyclebank offer residents discounts and deals for recycling their own trash.

Residents register for free with Recyclebank online, and points are awarded automatically each time residents recycle. City leaders are hoping the rewards program will incentivize more residents to go green.

To enter the giveaway and automatically start earning points for recycling, residents need simply to register at Recyclebank.com/Recycle.
