NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A 25-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured Tuesday morning when a gunman opened fire on their car in the San Fernando Valley.
The shooting happened near the intersection of Parthenia Street and Balboa Boulevard around 12:15 a.m., Los Angeles police said.
The group was riding in a Lexus sedan when it pulled over for an unknown reason, police said.
“How the vehicle got to that position and what caused the shooting, we still need to determine that,” Lt. Tim Torsney said.
A gunman then approached the vehicle and opened fire, according to authorities.
Gunfire also hit two other cars and the nearby window of a home.
The victims, two men and two women, were transported to a local hospital, where the 25-year-old was pronounced dead. The surviving victims were shot in the spleen, leg and shoulder. Their conditions were unknown.
Police did not release a motive or any information regarding a possible suspect.
