Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 24)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We never did tap into cooler weather this weekend. The low pressure system and trough that was forecast to drop down into the Great Basin moved very slow and that kept our inland areas very warm this weekend.

Today the low is on the move and we can expect some cooling. It should still be above average...but we will drop 5 to 6 degrees.

There is patchy fog and low cloud cover to the north and it should creep down into Ventura and LA county this morning as well.

There will be more cooling for tomorrow with a stronger on-shore flow. The on-shore flow could encourage some gusty winds in the mountains so we will have to keep an eye on that. Otherwise look for the cooler weather to last through Wednesday...before we start to heat up again with an off-shore flow developing by next weekend.

The atmospheric setup into next week could put is in the crosshairs of high fire danger.
