2013 Tournament Of Roses Parade Will Feature First Live Wedding

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Not everyone can be Kate Middleton and have a fairytale wedding watched by millions of people on TV and online. But one lucky couple could still score a comparable TV audience and a free wedding if they win a contest announced Monday by Farmers Insurance.

Farmers Insurance is searching via its Facebook page for a couple to get married aboard the company's "Love Float," which will be a part of the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day. The company expects the couple to have more than 50 million witnesses made up of television viewers and parade goers.

Besides the very unique experience of getting married on top of a Rose Parade float, the winning couple will get a trip to Pasadena for themselves and up to six friends, a wedding dress for the bride and a tuxedo for the groom, his and hers wedding rings, hair and makeup services for the bride, marriage license fees and – most importantly – two tickets to the 2013 Rose Bowl game for the couple.

One of the couple's wedding photos will be used in one of Farmer's national advertisements.

Four finalists will receive a $500 gift card from the company.

To be eligible, couples must be legal residents of the United States (except Alaska, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, New Hampshire and New Jersey), 21 and older and not currently married. Couples must also meet all California state marriage license requirements.

The deadline to enter is Oct. 14.
