HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man has died while trimming a tree in Hollywood, a fire official said Saturday.

Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, says a precise cause of the man’s death was not immediately known.

According to Humphrey, the tree trimmer was found hanging above ground beneath a mass of palm fronds.

The incident was reported about 12:22 p.m. on North Martel Avenue.

No further information was immediately available.

Martel Avenue between Sunset Boulevard and Fountain Avenue has been closed.
