7-Year-Old Girl On Scooter Hurt In Moreno Valley Crash

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A 7-year-old girl riding a scooter remained hospitalized on Saturday following a collision with a vehicle in the city of Moreno Valley.

Moreno Valley police Sgt. Lee Tainter said in a department statement that the accident at Climbing Rose Drive at Scarlet Sage Way was reported about 5 p.m. Friday.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the girl was traveling southbound on a scooter on Scarlet Sage Way.

As she entered the intersection, the statement said, she slammed into the side of a pickup truck headed west on Climbing Rose Drive.

The girl was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center with major head trauma.

No one else was injured.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to call police at (951) 486-6900 during weekday office hours, or (951) 776-1099, if calling on weekends or after-hours.
