The items were taken some time between Sept. 12-14 from a home in the 500 block of 12th Street, according to Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis.

The homeowner returned from a trip to find that several of his high-end paintings, expensive watches, wine and a small amount of cash were missing.

A further inspection revealed that the thief had also nabbed the man's red 2010 Porsche Carrera, which had been parked in the garage, Lewis said.

Investigators released photos of the stolen artwork, which included pieces by renowned painters Piet Mondrian, Joseph Cornell, Guy Rose and Richard Diebenkorn.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Detective David Haro at (310) 458-8432 or Sgt. Henry Ramirez at (310) 458-8453.
