Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 18)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — After a comfortable Monday we will see temperatures gradually warm up over the next few days.

The marine layer we had yesterday has pushed out of the valleys and into the basin. By tomorrow it will only be at the beach.

A ridge of high pressure is building up from the south and will help to bring temperatures above average. By Thursday and Friday the position of the high will encourage an off-shore flow. The high pressure peaks on Thursday and Friday with temperatures about 7 to 10 degrees above average.

For the weekend expect some cooling as another trough moves into the area. The good news with this pattern is the fact that we are starting to get some fluctuation in our temperatures instead of the stagnate hot conditions. It is an indication that we may be transition into more of a seasonal fall pattern.
