The accident was reported around noon on Sepulveda Boulevard, near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway, the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Erik Scott said.
Firefighters had to extricate three people trapped in mangled vehicles, Scott said. A total of six injured people were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
A woman in her 30s was critically injured, two women in their 30s suffered serious injuries; and a man in his 30s, a woman in her 40s and a boy about 2 years old suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The Sepulveda Boulevard off-ramps from the nearby 118 Freeway were closed briefly to limit traffic in the area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
