RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Authorities say a 60-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed Thursday after being struck by a mini bus.

The accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. at 1220 Palmyrita Ave., according to the Riverside Police Department.

Lt. Eric Charrette said the bicyclist, a Riverside resident whose identity has not been released, was going west through an office complex parking lot and tried to cross in front of a Sky Transportation bus that had several passengers.

The mini bus driver hit the bicyclist. He died at the scene.

No bus passengers were injured.
