GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — A multi-vehicle crash on the Ventura (134) Freeway in Glendale left one man dead and traffic shut down in both directions on Friday.

The crash near Harvey Drive was reported shortly after 7 a.m. , said California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada.

The man, who was in his 30s, died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

His name was being withheld pending family notification.

Three lanes were closed in each direction of the freeway while crews worked to clear the wreckage.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
