VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A man allegedly threatened to blow up a bank in Van Nuys during an attempted robbery on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident happened around 2:50 p.m. at a Chase Bank branch in the 6300 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.
The suspect fled the scene after he told the teller the place would explode if he didn’t get the money he wanted in 10 minutes, said Officer Tenesha Dobine of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.
The suspect was wearing a gray shirt.
It’s unknown if the man got away with any cash.
