The line fell across all lanes of the freeway at 3:12 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Tatiana Sauquillo said.
The CHP issued a SigAlert and initially announced the freeway would be closed for two hours. The closure ended up lasting about seven hours.
All lanes were reopened at 10:27 pm., CHP Officer Anthony Martin said.
Authorities said it was unclear what caused the line to fall.
