SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — A 64-year-old man suspected of driving under the influence was arrested Friday evening following a traffic collision that critically injured two sisters.
The children, ages 6 and 14, were with their grandmother in a crosswalk in the 600 block of San Fernando Road near Glassell Park when they were struck by a car.
She wasn’t injured.
The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m.
Both children were transported to a local trauma center where they were listed in critical condition.
Police administered a field sobriety test before arresting the driver at the scene.
No further information was immediately available.
