VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A fundraiser was held Saturday for a family that lost four members in a car accident last Sunday.
Family and friends of the devastated family held a car wash today in Van Nuys.
Organizers hoped to raise enough money for funeral expenses.
Four members of one family were riding in a Cadillac last Sunday when they were broadsided by a big rig near Lancaster.
All four people in the Cadillac died. The big rig driver was not injured.
The dead were identified as 56-year-old Juan Jesus Alaca, Rosa M. Morales, 58, both of North Hills and Anna Ceballos, 42, of Van Nuys and Maria Ramirez, 65, of West Hills.
The goal is to raise about $75,000. At this writing (Saturday, 8:30 p.m.), they have raised $3,185.
They also plan on having another car wash Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (7557 Woodley Ave., Van Nuys, 91406).
Organizers also established a website that accepts donations. For more information about giving, click here.
You can also donate by going to any Bank of America branch and depositing to # 325003998849, attn: Matha Rosario.
