Shaq In Talks With Mexican Basketball Team

LOS ANGELES (CBS) Shaquille O'Neal may be returning to basketball before the Lakers retire his number '32' jersey on April 2nd at STAPLES center.

According to ESPNdeportes.com, O'Neal is in negotiations with the Sergio Ganem, president of Fuerza Regia of the Mexican Basketball League located in Nuevo Leon, Monterey.

The deal that would send Shaq below the border would be for two exhibition games of the 2012-2013 Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional season.

"Shaq could play one or two games at the 2012-13 Mexican Basketball League with Fuerza Regia, Fuerza Regia's president Sergio Ganem said."

Former Laker Dennis Rodman was the last person to play in the LNBP in 2004.

O'Neal, 40, spent 8 seasons with the Lakers and averaged 27 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in LA.
