RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A man was charged Wednesday for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend and their two young children to death, and then fleeing from police.
Selvin Chajon Rodriguez, 23, was charged in the Aug. 30 slayings of 25-year-old Laura Reveriano, her 4-year-old son, Selvin Chajon Reveriano, and 19-month-old daughter, Emily Chajon Reveriano.
Neighbors tell the Los Angeles Times that Reveriano rejected a marriage proposal from Rodriguez on Aug. 25.
In court papers, Reveriano says her ex-boyfriend began threatening to kill her and the children and broke a window in her house. She obtained a temporary restraining order on Aug. 28.
Rodriguez was later found covered in blood, carrying a knife and walking along a freeway. He was shot by a Corona police officer and remains hospitalized.
The suspect was slated to be arraigned Thursday, provided he’s medically cleared to leave the hospital, on charges that make him eligible for the death penalty if convicted.
