Pedestrian Pinned Under Metro Subway Train In North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A pedestrian was hospitalized Tuesday after being pulled from underneath a Metro Red Line train in North Hollywood.

The unidentified victim was found beneath a subway train at 5350 Lankershim Boulevard, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews worked with Metro officials to de-energize the "third rail" of the track to access the man, who was believed to be in cardiac arrest when he was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

One firefighter suffered a small laceration during the rescue effort, officials said.

Metro line trains were experiencing delays of 15 to 20 minutes.
