THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA.com) — A 36-year-old Thousand Oaks man was arrested last week on child annoyance charges for allegedly scaring young girls in the area.
Christopher Allen Burton was taken into custody at his home on Aug. 31, according to Det. Marty Luna from the Thousand Oaks Police Department.
The incidents happened near and around Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park high schools last Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect reportedly drove a black truck and approached several girls.
During one of the incidents, Burton said he was working for a newspaper and offered money to the victims for their photographs.
Burton also offered money to one of the girls so he could videotape her.
The child annoyance case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review and filing of criminal charges.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Det. Luna at (805) 494-8229.
