SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 24-year-old Laguna Hills man was charged Tuesday in the murder of his girlfriend.

Derek Henry Pinski was arrested Saturday night at his father’s house in Mesa, Ariz., just hours after Alexandra Tang, also 24, was found dead.

Pinski, who is accused of fatally stabbing Tang, is facing extradition, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

The two met while attending UC Santa Barbara.

Tang, who lived in Santa Barbara, was visiting Pinski over the holiday weekend.
