LA Police Question Son Of 81-Year-Old Man Found Dead

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The son of an 81-year-old man found dead at the bottom of a staircase in a Los Angeles home was taken into custody for questioning about the incident, according to police.

Carlos Ardon was allegedly found by his son around 1:30 a.m. at Third and Pecan streets, according to Sgt. John Porras of the Hollenbeck Station.

Detectives said Ardon’s son, who is in his 40s, was hovering over his father. They are investigating whether the victim died accidentally.

“The son tried to get other family members to help him move the father, but they said they would call for help,” Porras said.

The sergeant said it was hard for the son to move his father on his own because the man only had one arm.
