LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Three men in their 20s were hospitalized Monday following what appeared to be a gang-related attack in Lincoln Park, police said.
Los Angeles police Sgt. John Porras said the shooting outside an apartment building on Lincoln Park Avenue was reported at 10:20 p.m. Sunday.
“One man was shot in the right leg, one in the left thigh and one in the abdomen,” Porras said.
Police said they initially thought they had a possible suspect when they saw a man run out of an apartment with a gun.
“It turned out to be an acquaintance of the victim who went out to defend his buddies,” he said.
Porras said the suspects may have fled in dark-colored pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150, or a white Volkswagen Rabbit.
The identity of those involved has not been released.
