(CBSLA.com) — Several styles of Mr. Coffee coffeemakers are being recalled after having badly burned dozens of people.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is pulling about 600,000 units of the Mr. Coffee Single Cup Brewing Systems after receiving reports the brewing chamber can suddenly burst open, spewing scalding water and coffee grounds.
More than 60 people have reported being burned on their upper torso, face and hands.
Bed Bath & Beyond, JC Penny, Kmart, Lowe’s, Target and Walmart were selling the Chinese-made appliance for $60-$80.
The item was being sold between September 2010 and August 2012.
