Amber Alert Issued For Girl, 17, Being Held For Ransom

HENDERSON, Nevada (CBSLA.com) — An Amber Alert has been issued for a 17-year-old girl who is being held for ransom after she was abducted from her home in Nevada.

Police said two men approached the house at approximately 7:30 a.m. and knocked on the door.

When Melissa Duran opened the door, the men allegedly abducted her.

Duran's parents said they received a ransom demand by phone later that day.

The suspects reportedly fled the area in a late model red two-door passenger car with a blue fender on the front passenger side.

Duran was described as Hispanic, 5-foot-4-inches and 125 pounds. She was wearing a yellow shirt and white pants with black stripes.

There was no description given of the suspects except to say that one of the men was 19 years old.

Henderson police have issued an Amber Alert in counties across Southern California.

Anyone with information, or who sees the girl or the suspects' car, was asked to call police.
