LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — An Antelope Valley American Youth Soccer Organization coach facing sex abuse charges involving five underage boys was charged again Thursday with child molestation involving eight other boys.
Renoir Valenti, 50, pleaded not guilty to five felony counts of continuous sexual abuse and eight misdemeanor counts of child molestation.
The molestations, which involved 5 to 15 year old boys, allegedly happened between January 1994 and July 2012, according to the criminal complaint.
Five of the kids were soccer players coached by Valenti.
Authorities originally began investigating the coach of more than 16 years after a mother told police her 9-year-old son had been molested.
Valenti was arrested Aug. 6. He’s in jail on $2.25 million bail.
The District Attorney’s Office said if convicted, he faces a maximum of 83 years to life behind bars.
