Brush Fire Erupts Near Piru; No Structures Threatened

VENTURA COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire has erupted in the Piru area of Ventura County.

The fire off Highway 126 and East La Falda Way broke out Sunday morning. It was burning at a slow rate of speed.

CalFire reported via Twitter that they were called to assist the Ventura County Fire Department in the firefight.

Other resources including 13 engines, one chopper and a couple of dozers were also dispatched.

The brush fire is believed to have scorched at least 75 acres. No structures were threatened.

Southern California Edison has been notified due to power lines in the area.

No further information was immediately available.
