SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Specialty cupcakes are all the rage, so a pair of Orange County entrepreneurs have taken them to the next level by adding alcohol.
Orange County-based Hapa Cupcakes specializes in alcohol-infused cupcakes.
The business operates out of a commercial kitchen in Santa Ana and offers a variety of flavored cupcakes that are spiced up with various libations.
Some are made with dark rum, Guinness stout beer, even whiskey and wine.
Owners Akemi Lee and Hanayo Martin say the amount of whiskey in the cupcakes isn’t enough to get drunk on – but it can still be tasted.
They hope to open a store in Irvine soon.
