Gunman Opens Fire On Hollywood Freeway

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A gunman opened fire on a Southland Freeway early Friday morning, narrowly missing a driver.

The shooting happened just after midnight on the northbound Hollywood (170) Freeway at Burbank Boulevard, Los Angeles police said.

The victim said he was driving home from work when another car pulled up alongside him and fired several shots.

The back window of the victim's car was shattered. His car was also damaged in the shooting.

"The victim was extremely lucky. The bullets just narrowly missed his head," Sgt. Dan Fournier of the LAPD said.

The victim described the shooter's vehicle as a silver, four-door sedan.

The shooting is under investigation, but authorities believe it was random.
