POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed in a violent traffic crash Sunday night in Pomona.

The crash occurred at W. Arrow Highway and N. Garey Avenue.

The single car crash is under investigation.

The unidentified motorist reportedly sheared off a fire hydrant in the accident.

The victim was declared dead at the scene.

He was believed to have been alone in the vehicle.
