Search Continues For Missing Snorkeler Off Palos Verdes Peninsula

PALOS VERDES (CBSLA.com) — A dive team resumed their search in the waters off Palos Verdes Monday for a woman who disappeared while snorkeling.

Rebecca Weiss, 50, of Marina Del Rey, was last seen leaving her residence in the 13000 block of Marina Pointe Drive to go free diving near a resort on Saturday, August 11, and was supposed to return home by 5:00 p.m.

When she failed to return, her husband went looking for her and found her car parked near a beach entryway of the Terranea Resort, authorities said.

A bag belonging to Weiss was also discovered on the beach.

Deputies and lifeguards searched the area for four hours Sunday.

Weiss is described as a female Asian with black hair, brown eyes, 5'5" tall and 115 pounds. last seen wearing a wet suit and driving a black 2006 BMW X5, California license plate 5UEJ690.
