Long Beach Leaders Challenge Residents To Balance Budget

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The city of Long Beach has created a new online tool to show residents what it takes to balance a city budget.

The interactive challenge will give people a chance to see what happens when you have to make budget cuts to city services.

Long Beach leaders hope residents will help them figure out what to do, since the city is facing a $17 million deficit next year.

However, the budget challenge is strictly for informational purposes. The council is not obligated to follow public recommendations.
