LAUSD Teacher Pleads Not Guilty To Allegedly Molesting 14-Year-Old Girl

DOWNEY (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Unified School District teacher pleaded not guilty to seven felony charges Wednesday for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl in 2005.

Kip Richard Arnold, 51, is charged with three counts of committing a lewd act on a child, two counts of oral copulation of a person under 16 and one count each of sexual penetration by a foreign object and evading an officer.

Prosecutors claim Arnold and the 14-year-old had a sexual relationship between June and September 2005.

On July 10, Arnold led police on a high-speed chase after he was confronted by Bell police about the allegations.

He drove through Torrance and Rolling Hills Estates, where he crashed his pickup truck into a tree.

Arnold has worked for the LAUSD for eight years, according to school officials. Most recently, he was a physical education teacher at Southeast Middle School.

His next court date is Sept. 20.
