HEMET (CBS) — A check-cashing business in Hemet was robbed early Friday afternoon by three armed men but no one was injured.
The incident took place about 11:15 a.m. at the Check Into Cash in the 3000 block of West Florida Avenue, Hemet police Cpl. Frank Pitett said.
Police say the trio ordered about 20 customers to the floor, demanded cash from the safe and took off in two getaway cars.
A news release issued by the Hemet Police Department said one of the cars, a stolen Toyota Camry, was recovered in Moreno Valley. The other vehicle was described as a dark-colored four-door vehicle with tinted windows.
As of Friday, the suspects were still at large. According to police, the men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Anyone with more information about this case was asked to contact the Hemet Police Department at (951) 765-3897.
