SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A Santa Ana youth boxing coach accused of molestation pleaded not guilty on Friday.

Prosecutors allege that Anthony Serrano committed lewd acts on a child under the age of 14.

Supporters of the former gang member say that Serrano has turned his life around and helped young people.

The 45-year-old is accused of kissing one of his young boxers in public at tournaments and molesting him up to 50 times in the past year, according to prosecutors.

Serrano’s next court date has been set for next month.
