LONG BEACH (CBS) —Rep. Laura Richardson (D-Long Beach) Wednesday was fined $10,000 by the House Ethics Committee for misusing her staff.
The committee said Richardson forced her congressional staff to do campaign work for her, which is a violation of the House Standards of Official Conduct.
The Ethics Committee also said the representative admitted to all seven counts against her, including coercion of her staff and attempts to alter evidence.
Richardson has agreed to pay the fine.
She’ll face Congresswoman Janice Hahn in the November election.
