Actress Kristen Stewart, Director Rupert Sanders Apologize For Affair

HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Actress Kristen Stewart and 41-year-old "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders released public statements Wednesday apologizing for having an affair.

The 22-year-old actress allegedly cheated on her fellow "Twilight" star boyfriend, Robert Pattison, 26, with the married director.

The rumors began Tuesday when Us Weekly released photos of the pair kissing.

Stewart released a statement Wednesday morning to People saying:

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Shortly after Stewart's apology, Sanders released the follow statement:

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," he told People. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

The father of two is married to actress-model Liberty Ross who played Queen Eleanor, Snow White's mother, in the film.

Stewart and Pattinson were together promoting the final "Twilight" film at Comic-Con earlier this month. "Breaking Down - Part 2" is scheduled to be released Nov. 16.
