SHERMAN OAKS (CBS) — A $50,000 reward is being offered to help find the killer of a father, who was shot to death for taking too long to cook a fast food order.
Raul Lopez, 38, was shot to death while working at Hoagies & Wings on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks on June 29. A group of five young men reportedly got disruptive, and one of the customers got angry with Lopez over how long it was taking for food to be prepared.
Lopez’s widow and his five children spoke about their father, and the eldest – 16-year-old Malicio – told KNX 1070’s John Brooks that this crime could happen to someone else’s loved one.
“It could happen to another family and that’s what we don’t want, cause we know how it feels to lose somebody special,” Malicio said.
The suspects – all men in their 20s and 30s – left in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Cadillac Escalade.
