Calif. Grad Survives Colorado Theater Rampage
SACRAMENTO (AP) — A recent graduate of a Central Valley university is among the survivors of the July 20 Aurora, Colo. movie theater rampage.
22-year-old Petra Anderson, who graduated from the University of the Pacific in May, was shot four times when a gunman opened fire during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises". One pellet entered her nose and traveled through her brain.
A Colorado native, Anderson graduated with a major in music composition. In 2010, she composed and directed a musical tribute to veterans at the university concert hall. Anderson was headed to the University of Maryland to pursue a graduate degree.
Her boyfriend, Austin Hogan, said Anderson was responding to doctors.
