LOS ANGELES (AP) – New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow has been working on his throwing mechanics with former major league pitcher Tom House, ESPN.com reported Friday.
Tebow, whose unorthodox throwing motion has been often criticized, spent this week with House at the University of Southern California. House, a volunteer pitching coach for the Trojans, has worked with several NFL quarterbacks over the years, including Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Alex Smith.
House tells ESPN.com he thinks Tebow is “getting better, but the proof is in the pudding. Being out here at USC is different than being with the New York Jets.”
Tebow was traded from Denver to New York in March and is expected to back up Mark Sanchez but will have a major role in the offense, likely in wildcat-style packages.
