Angels Expecting Haren To Return Sunday

ANAHEIM (AP) — Angels right-hander Dan Haren is expected to return from the disabled list Sunday after his latest bullpen sessions went well.

Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia said Friday he expects Haren to start Sunday against Texas.

Scioscia also says catcher Chris Iannetta and outfielder Vernon Wells appear ready for rehabilitation assignments in their comebacks from long-term injuries.

Haren (6-8) has been out since July 5 with lower back tightness, appearing on the disabled list for the first time in his 10-year career. The three-time All-Star is normally among the majors' most dependable starters, but has struggled all year with back woes.

Iannetta has been out since May 10 with a broken right wrist and elbow pain. After coming out of a workout solidly Friday, Iannetta appears ready for a rehab assignment.
