LOS ANGELES (CBS) –  The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced Chad Billingsley will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with elbow soreness.

Billingsley tried to throw before Tuesday’s game against the Phillies but experienced too much soreness.

The move is retroactive to July 8th and he is scheduled to start on Monday.

Stephen Fife will make his major league debut in his place against Roy Halladay.
